Building community and connecting with others is a big focus at Knox.
There are always lots of opportunities to get to know each other: Hops, karaoke, open mic events, quiz nights, crafting, the Larnach Ball…to name a few.
Knoxie Talent
Our Cameron Shield and Nevill Cup competitions are great vehicles for showcasing Knoxie talent and awesome college pride. Whether spectating or competing, it’s always exciting to see who will take the win in our sports and arts competitions.
Knox College Weekly Speakers
Knox College’s weekly speaker series is a popular event. With a hugely diverse range of topics covered this year, the material for discussion was never in short supply. The scope included complex ethical law, immigrant history, how to use a walkie-talkie and a typewriter, Tūhura Otago Museum curation, emergency management of the alpine fault; and even a delegation, presentation and Q&A with South NASA’s Aero and Space Jet Propulsion Lab’s Dr Vandi Verma (Deputy Section manager for the Mobility and Robotics section of the lab).
Concert in the Stairwell
Knox’s annual concert provided an evening of music with over two hours of performances, ranging from jazz standards and pop ballads to heavy metal and solo acoustic indie tunes, and featuring our very own 2024 Knox Band.

Congratulations to Knox Food Service!
Food is a serious business at Knox. With the Knox Food Service taking out top place in the annual colleges' survey, the college kitchen’s hard work has made us proud. The Knox Community dinners are a particular highlight: a Matariki feast and an Americano-themed dinner are just a couple of examples.

2024 Top Highlight: Mid-winter Knoxmas
Our Knoxmas week of events included baking and decorating cookies, Christmas-themed movies, and even Knoxmas Eve Chapel carols, followed by mulled wine and toasted marshmallows, and a Christmas Feast.
